Don’t worry even if you’re single on Valentine’s Day. We got you! Here are five things you can do on heart’s day!
We're all aboard the second month of the year. February is known as the most 'romantic month of the year' as the whole world celebrates Valentine's Day, which falls on the 14th of the month, a worldwide celebration of hearts and beloved relationships.
If you’re single, it may sometimes feel dreadful to see couples everywhere, flowers, and all that cheesy stuff online. But you do know that it isn’t the end of the world, right?
Even though Valentine’s Day has always somehow felt like an occasion that couples only celebrate, it doesn’t have to be that way! It’s a day filled with red, pink, bouquets of roses, and all that couple things you can’t relate with, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it yourself.
And so, here are five things that the ‘sexy-free-and-single’ you can do on Valentine’s Day!
1. Order in a ‘luxurious’ lunch
Because the threats of COVID-19 is still upon us, we are still highly advised to stay at home for most of the time, and that mostly calls for food deliveries.
When we say ‘luxurious’ lunch, it doesn’t have to be from a Michelin-starred restaurant. It can be from a restaurant where you don’t usually order from, or anything as long as it isn’t your usual fast-food picks! Treat yourself to some delicious food on Valentine’s Day, because you deserve all the love, too!
2. Call your loved ones
Valentine’s Day is a day to spread love, and love isn’t exclusive among couples. You can dial in and converse with your beloved ones, may it be your best friend, your sibling who lives far away, and express how thankful you are to have them in your life.
They are the ones who make our lives complete, and they deserve to know the best things you love about them. Engage in a heartfelt conversation, because we all need it, especially at the time of a pandemic.
3. Pamper yourself
Dedicate this day to the one and only, the ever amazing and hardworking you! Fortunately, February 14 falls on a Sunday, so it’s luckily a less-busy day for most people.
Either spend a day watching your favorite movies, animation, or series while munching on some pizza or popcorn, or sink yourself into a warm evening bath in the tub. Light up those scented candles, if you have, and play some relaxing music while basking in the silence and relaxation that you needed the most.
4. Go on an online museum tour
One of the most famous date ideas is going to a museum. But, you know, you can also go to a museum by yourself! But due to restrictions, attractions like museums are still temporarily closed at the moment, which is why we thank modern-day technology for providing us alternative ways to enjoy art.
Here are a few museums from all around the world that you can visit!
5. Write yourself a letter
Handwritten letters are old school type of romantic, but it holds a sentimental value and a big amount of memory for a lot of people.
Pick up a fancy stationery pad or notebook and scribble down what you’d like to tell your past or future self. Write down your deepest and deepest sentiments, or give your future self a piece of advice. Or you can also thank yourself for being strong, for staying strong up until this day.
You can definitely enjoy Valentine’s Day with yourself, or your family, because love is not limited, and Valentine’s Day is not only about couples. It’s about spreading love among everyone, and reminding them that they deserve to be loved.
