President Rodrigo Duterte said that his 4th State of the Nation Address will be short.
According to Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo, Duterte will not likely discuss the government’s accomplishments because it was already part of the three pre-SONA briefings by several Cabinet clusters.
He said that the president will tackle the promises he made on fighting corruption, illegal drugs, criminality and rebellion. He will also speak about major issues such as the West Philippine Sea, ways to sustain the growth in the economy, as well as his legislative agenda.
Also, he is expected to report the current situation of the country and his plans to further move the nation forward for the remainder of his term.
Panelo quipped that two hours will be short for one’s speech. He still has no idea whether Duterte will stick to his prepared speech or go off-script.
Last year, Duterte’s speech lasted for only 48 minutes.
